THEME: THE PROMISE OF STRENGTH
Isaiah 40: 29
“…He gives strength to the weary…”
Dear reader, maybe you feel tired, drained and exhausted this morning on either a physical, emotional or a spiritual level. Whatever the case may be God promises strength to His people.
When reading the Word of God we notice quite a few Scriptures highligthing this fact as a promise to God’s children.
In 2 Chronicles 16: 9 we read that God looks to those whose hearts are fully committed to Him, to strengthen them. In Psalm 29: 11 David testifies to the fact that God gives strength to His people. We further read that the Word of God has a strengthening effect on the followers of God –
Psalm 119: 28. The prophet Isaiah writes about God being our strength every morning in Isaiah 33: 2 and in Isaiah 58: 11 he prophecies that God will strengthen the frame of His children.
The list is endless, dear friend. Many of you may ask how one receives strength from the Lord.
The answer is found in Ephesians 3: 16 – “I pray that out of His glorious riches, He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being.” The Holy Spirit dwelling inside you will release power and strength into you during those times you need it most. Become completely still.
Go somewhere private. Kneel. Touch the Master’s heart with a prayer. Ask Him to release His power and His strength into your heart, mind, body and soul in this day. Then rely on Him to provide it to you, while you stand on the promises in His Word and recite them in your heart.
Prayer:
“Heavenly Father, we are weak, tired, weary and limited in our human capacity to carry burdens, face challenges and keep up the pace of routine tasks. We need more than our own strength if we desire to please You and glorify You while we go about our daily business.
Fill us with the strength and power that only You can provide through Your precious Holy Spirit this morning. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
