“…I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better…”
Dear reader, how well do you know God? Is it possible to grow in the knowledge of God? Is it the desire of your heart to know God in a relational way? Take some time to ponder and meditate on these questions, my friend. To many of us the idea of knowing God links with our perception of knowing things about God. However, these are two different truths altogether. Knowing about someone is forming a perception and opinion from a distance.
Knowing someone is an “up-close-and-personal” encounter!
Many Christians know about God, but that do not know God for themselves. They have never experienced His voice, His touch, His revelation, His love, His power or His presence! This is sad, as God’s greatest desire is to be one with each and every one of us. God desires close fellowship and relationship with us, dear reader! This is the main reason why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross, to take care of sin once and for all and to restore us to a relationship with Him!
Without the proper knowledge and understanding of God, we are bound to resist Him and also neglect our spiritual development. Without true and real insight into who God is, we will never be able to realize who we are! We are made in the image of God! We were created to express all that is of God to the world around us. We need to know God for ourselves and reflect that to those who do not know Him…
My dear friend, aren’t you at all curious to see whether there is more to God than what you are comfortable with? Aren’t you at all curious to venture deeper into the heart of God; to discover more of Him, His love, His holiness, His power and His nature? Make it your greatest pursuit!
Trust me, you will not be disappointed!
Prayer:
“Father God, we realize this morning that we do not know half of who You are and what there is to know about You. We learn much from the Word of God and other Christians, but You also desire to reveal Yourself to each one of us personally and intimately. We ask today that You would give us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we might begin to understand who You are and what a wonderful thing it is to live in a relationship with You! We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
COOL friends getting to know GOD is our greatest pursuit, and be encouraged never to stop. Be encouraged this week to share this message with others, so they to can be reminded of our greatest call and pursuit in life.
