“…because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance…”
Dear reader, as a believer your faith will be tested. Be it through circumstances, relationship challenges, financial difficulties, physical illness, spiritual warfare, depression or fear – the test(s) will come. Many believers under-estimate the importance of the testing of their faith. They complain and ask God why He allows difficulties and challenges to arise, rather than considering the benefits within the season that they find themselves.
In every test lies a desired result. God wants us to continuously grow in faith. God does not want us to become stagnate. A faith that does not keep on developing and growing can easily become so watered-down that it turns the believer lukewarm! This is dangerous ground for any child of God to be on. God desires that our faith in Him should grow. Tests and challenges also provide great opportunities for God to reveal Himself to us in new and fresh ways. The most powerful revelations came to well-known evangelists, preachers and teachers during times of severe trial and suffering.
During seasons of severe suffering we must fight the notion to doubt God, question God and turn from Him in anger and disappointment. We should run towards Him and confess that we will keep the faith, despite our natural circumstances and realities. We should believe God’s Word and we should trust in His character no matter what we go through in this life.
Perseverance means the steady endurance in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement. We must endure as believers in Jesus Christ. We must endure in our faith! We must not allow anything to strip us of our faith in God. Believer, take up the Word of God.
Declare the promises of God over your life. Do not quit. Do not give up. Do not let go of God. Breakthrough is on its way. It comes as you step up and enter a new level of faith. Persist! Endure! ARISE!
Prayer:
“Father God, give us the strength in this day to disregard the voices of doubt and fear and to arise to a new level of faith in You; a faith caught up in Your Word and Your nature; a faith focused upon You and not the world or realities around us. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Friends be encouraged to spend more time in prayer and less time in discussion, as GOD listens to our prayers and answers them not our discussion. So use your energy wisely and PRAY more and discuss less, and be encouraged to be silent as often as possible to hear GOD when HE speaks to you.
Prayer is the most important part of our relationship with GOD through Christ Our Only Lord. Jesus has always encouraged and demonstrated the need to PRAY throughout the WORD of GOD. Spend time reading The BIBLE as much as possible, and through HIS WORD you will grow in wisdom and truth.
