THEME: WHAT WE ALL NEED!
2 Thessalonians 3: 16 “…Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with you all…”
Dear reader, don’t you just wish sometimes that you could have just one day; just one day of complete peace; where no crises hits you; when no-one steps out of line; where everybody gets along and everything is just calm…
Believer, I have just described heaven to you in one sentence! Unfortunately here on earth we are subject to: challenges, conflicts, disappointments, misunderstandings, perceptions, opinions, and all the rest of the “ugh” – things in life! These things steal our peace and creates all kinds of emotions with us: fear, sadness, guilt, anger, disappointment, confusion and condemnation.
However, as children of God we must be cautious not to allow such times to steal away our peace and our joy. This does sound hard and I believe it is, because we all tend to focus more intently on our natural circumstances than on the spiritual circumstances. It is however pivotal that we realize that peace is available to us. God is the God of peace. He bestows peace to His children freely and without charge.
My prayer to you (and also for myself!) this morning is the Scripture verse in today’s daily thought. I pray that God will give you peace at all times and in all your ways. I pray that a supernatural peace might grab a hold of you. A peace that you don’t understand, because it cannot be rationally explained if you look at your circumstances. May God bless us all with this peace and may we walk in it every day!
Prayer:
“Father God, You are the God of peace. Please grant us the blessing of Your peace in the midst of this day – with all its many challenges and tasks. Help us to remain steadfast in an attitude of peace, so that we will always react with poise, dignity and integrity. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.”
