“…The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid and do not be discouraged…”
Dear reader, everything in life is worthless without God. Living our lives on Earth without cultivating a relationship with God and receiving from Him the purpose of our existence is senseless. Many people become afraid and discouraged in life by various circumstances and challenges. This is human and we all experience such times. However, those who have a close relationship with God have the courage to get back up and move on because they are driven forward by their sense of purpose and destiny.
The truth of the matter is that human beings can accomplish nothing of lasting value without God. We are so fallible, so weak, so sinful and corrupt that making the wrong choices, acting on impulse or doing something out of character is possible for us. However, if we strive to get to know God, to grow in the knowledge of His presence and His love, we will find that as we grow in Him gradually we will become stronger in His might and power.
Jesus said in John 15: 5 – that apart from Him, we can do nothing. Outside of Christ, you have no power over sin in your life; you have no power over Satan and the evil forces at work in this world and you have no peace of mind regarding your eternal destination. Outside of Christ, you have no sense of true self-worth, identity and purpose.
Believers, God is the Source of your life. He is all you need. He will go before you and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Lean fully on Him today. Trust in Him. He is faitfhul. Lay down your fears and your discouragement before His throne and allow His peace to fill you. You are not alone!!
Prayer:
“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word this morning that gives us renewed hope, strength and encouragement. Help us in this day to realize our need of You. Lord, truly outside of You we can never taste life in abundance! Help us in our weakness. Give us Your peace. Help us not to become discouraged, but to take heart as we trust in Your presence to sustain us. We ask all of this in the precious name of our Lord and our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.”
